‘Light’s Out’
A community effort to save energy by turning all home and office lights off for five to ten minutes on Sunday the 2nd of December, which is National Day for Dubai. It will occur in the evening after sunset. It will be advertised in schools, on the radio, and even in people’s local communities.

Intended Process
1. Idea
Find out an activity which majority of community members can easily participate together while having fun and enticing our causes’ awareness

2. Plan
a. Figure out distributing channels of the news
b. Identify like-minded supporters and activists
c. Outline action specification: what, why, when, where, who, and how

3. Advertising/Announcement
a. Create posters in print and online
b. Contact media: newspapers, radio, facebook, web applications etc.
c. Display posters in community areas and online posters via e-mail

4. Network
a. Build a possible network via ecubed.wordpress.com blog for the next actions
b. Have people post their photos, text, or video of their action stories
c. Encourage them to come to the blog and join for the next week action
d. Assist them to create their own action group according to their interests and expertise

Outcomes: Blog participation + Community Tool Development
