Global Warming | causes && effects
Accelerated Global warming has numerous causes:·
Greenhouse Gases: these are gases such as Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen etc. released from human’s daily activities such as driving cars, burning fossil fuels, improper methods of disposal, and power plants etc.·
Deforestation: the constant cutting down of trees decreases the carbon dioxide absorbed, thus increasing amounts of it. Of course, a whole mature forest of trees release more carbon dioxide than they absorb, but when deforestation occurs, some trees are burned or just left to decompose which contributes greatly to GBW. · Pollution:
i. Of oceans: killing much sea life which makes the ocean healthy which absorbs a lot of the radiation from the sun
ii. Of the atmosphere with numerous heat-trapping gases·
Animal Farming: Mass farming of cows used for dairy products or meat processing release huge amounts of methane as ‘passed natural gas.’ ·
Miscellaneous: Many other factors are contributing to the accelerated speed of the warming of the Earth, from the melting of ice caps containing vast quantities of methane, to rising amounts of poverty resulting in the production and thus consumption of cheap, un-recyclable and environmental unfriendly products.
While causes are varied, they are still numbered.
The effects however are infinite, unpredictable as well as most possibly dangerous:
- More natural disasters (i.e. Katrina, Thailand Tsunami etc)
- Ice caps (permafrost) melting which will raise the ocean level and result in the flooding of many ‘low’ countries
- Temperatures rising causing drought in some places resulting in
- Food shortages resulting in
- Higher levels of poverty
- Many species of plants and animals may go instinct
- Shift in the ‘grain belt’
- Erosion of the upper stratospheric ozone
- many more
Effects range from the most miniscule of changes to the most drastic of disasters. The people that will be most affected are the children. Small children who are below the poverty line especially: who already have very little to live with and survive on. These children will be hit the hardest for it will be harder for them to adapt to their changes, and they, who have no incomes and sparse belongings will have the hardest time changing to survive to these hot changes.
Also, some changes will be irreversible. Some will be near-impossible to reverse yet the majority can be changed fairly easily: just a little cooperation, awareness and donations can make all the difference.
We must act before it’s too late, before Earth reaches the ‘tipping point’ when it has gone so over-the-top pertaining to drastic changes that she can no longer take the heat. The tipping point is reffered to as the time period when Earth can no longer go back to what it used to be: in other words when it’s already too late.
These kinds of information need to be made avaliable to the public eyes, to let them know the importance and urgency of GBW to let them feel the ‘heat.’

I never knew how severe global warming was until reading this.
It really is shocking… the more i hear about the dangers waiting, the more i feel eager to take action and prevent these dangers from occurring…
ecubed is the answer for a bright future!!
